Individuals, of all ages from diverse backgrounds take on a variety of volunteer roles in all of ELIYA’s branches in Israel. Michael Segal, the current Chairman of the Board of Eliya – Israel, previously served voluntarily for over two decades, as the full-time managing director. For his retiring service, in 2005, he was awarded a medal by the president of Israel.
There are opportunities throughout the year to volunteer at ELIYA-USA events (primarily held in Los Angeles, occasionally in New York).
Join a committee and assist with event planning, new initiatives, and promoting our cause.

As a host, you can make your home available or ask your child’s school, synagogue or church to provide a space. We ask that you provide light refreshments and invite at least 20 philanthropic acquaintances to learn about ELIYA (we help with refreshments expenses where needed | Donations at any level is encouraged). Our staff brings informational material and makes a 25 minute presentation to the attendees.
A Day, Afternoon or Night out with a Purpose
Many local businesses such as restaurants, frozen yogurt/juice shops, bowling alleys, and other hospitality based businesses are willing to donate a portion of their proceeds from one day’s sales to a worthy cause. Inquire with a local business, and let us know if they would like to participate. We will make arrangements with them and set a date for the fundraiser. Invite your friends, family, neighbors, and synagogue members to eat or play and help raise funds for ELIYA. We can also help advertise the event to our constituents via email and social media and provide informational material such as brochures about the work of ELIYA.
